Well, here we are - New Years Eve! 2018 flew by quicker than usual due to multitudinous changes, and to say that the end of the year snuck up on me is a total understatement. In January, I finally took the plunge and had LASIK surgery. Having been seriously nearsighted for the majority of my life, being able to see with 20/20 vision is unbelievable! In March, I accepted a new job in Portland, Maine; we packed up the house in Vermont, put it on the market and moved into an apartment in a city we'd visited just a few times before. In April, I began working with a fantastic team; I settled in quickly and got to work on several projects. Summer flew by, with much of my time spent exploring the farmers market, trying new restaurants, meeting new people, and discovering my new surroundings. In September, we put an offer on a new home, so we packed up our little apartment (it felt like we'd only just unpacked!) and moved in early November. Thanksgiving and Christmas were spent with friends, enjoying our new digs over amazing food and drinks.
Somewhere along the way, I got a cold. Not a bad cold, but enough to develop an incessant cough. In search of relief on a partial sick day, I threw together this garlic & herb broth, my spin on this garlic broth recipe.
